Copywriter – our creative Wizard of Words

Are you looking for an exciting position where you can challenge and explore your creative abilities and make your mark on our communication? Do you have extensive knowledge and experience in the wargaming and tabletop gaming industry, where you either play or paint yourself?

Then you are perfect as The Army Painter’s copywriter!

You will become part of our Marketing team, which is currently divided into two departments: Tactical and Commercial. You will work in the Commercial department, which mainly focuses on print, web, and sales materials. The department consists of a Marketing Manager and three Graphic Designers, each with their own specialty within the field.

International team player with an eye for detail
In collaboration with Tactical Marketing, E-commerce, and Sales, you will help develop a plan for our newsletters and its execution. Your daily work will involve working closely with the US part of the Tactical Marketing, who are responsible for all social media, to review and maintain a consistent brand tone across all channels. You will also work closely with our skilled Graphic Designers and Photographers, who will help support you with graphic content in your communication.

Your tasks will be varied, but the most important thing is that you have outstanding writing skills, so you can elevate and maintain our excellent communication with our retailers and end-consumers.

Your daily work will consist of maintaining and writing clear, compelling, and engaging copy for various online and offline media, such as:

  • Multiple B2C and B2B newsletters every month
  • Web:
    • Product descriptions (webshop and amazon platform)
    • Content for our website (landing pages, subpages and campaigns)
    • Blog posts (tutorials, how-to guides, news articles)
    • SEO
    • SoMe ads
  • Product (box descriptions, brochures, flyers, painting and assembly guides etc.)
  • B2B sales materials (advertisements, articles etc.)
  • Collaboratively review and proofread copy with the different stakeholders, ensuring quality assurance before any publication.

You’ll be trained and taught the basics during the onboarding process by the different managers and departments who have been involved in the copywriting process.

Linguistic hobbyist with passion
All copywriting will be in English due to our international market, so you must be fluent in the language. You have a strong grasp of grammar and a talent for thinking in creative, linguistic, and quirky concepts, allowing you to craft engaging texts that ultimately help generate sales.

This, combined with strong graphic skills and an eye for aesthetics, will help you create the perfect layout for your message.
Through good and creative storytelling, you convey complex messages in a way that is digestible for both beginners and veterans in the hobby. Therefore, it is also important that you have extensive knowledge and personal experience with the hobby.

In extension of this, the role is easier to fill if you have:

  • A bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, or journalism, but your ability to write good copy is paramount.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience writing English copy.
  • Abilities to be self-sufficient and able to handle and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A good understanding of digital communication, social media, and trends within communication.
  • Experience with SEO and optimizing content for search engines.
  • Experience with email systems such as Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or others.

You will report directly to Marketing Manager Amy Hoa. The position is full-time with a start date as soon as possible from November.
