The Official Paint of Trench Crusade

The Official Paint of Trench Crusade

The Army Painter is proud to be the official paint of Trench Crusade!

Our brand-new range of Trench Crusade themed paint sets, the Crusade Se7ens, have recently launched with the full endorsement of the fine folks over at Factory Fortress. These sets draw their colours from the John Blanche Masterclass and Warpaints Historical ranges, giving you the perfect blend of grimdark and gritty realism, tailored to each unique warband and faction.

A Partnership Forged in the Trenches

This is more than just a new line of paint sets. This is a partnership in every meaning of the word. We first teased our budding romance back at NOVA 2025 with the Trench Crusade Initiation Set. An event-exclusive set of paints that we felt evoked the imagery and vibes of this grimdark setting. The mutual love quickly grew and by AdeptiCon 2026 we were announcing our official partnership with what would become this new line of Crusade Se7ens paint sets!

Outside of just Crusade Se7ens you can expect to see us collaborate in even more ways. The Arena Challenge for 2026 has been running for several months now, and has participants from our own offices, Trench Crusade, Baron of Dice, Tabletop Titans, and our Factory Team all painting up warbands to take on the mysteries of the Broken Isle, our very own mini setting. Though that will soon come to an end, don't expect that to be the last you see of The Army Painter and Trench Crusade. We have many, many more plans for the future.

Crusade Se7ens: The Free State of Prussia Paint Set

To kick things off, we have everyone's favourite armoured warriors of faith, and the first plastic range of models from Trench Crusade—the Prussians! More accurately known as The Free State of Prussia, these armoured lads and lasses have been rolling sevens and bashing in Fallen heads since late last year, so we thought it was only fitting that the brand-new Crusade Se7ens range debuted with them.

The seven carefully curated paints were chosen to best represent the vast bulk of any Prussian force, the indomitable Stosstruppen. Warpaints Historical Mid Khaki Drill is the perfect colour for their armour and jackets, while the Mid Feldgrau is ideal for their trousers. This colour also works spectacularly for the entirety of the Yeoman uniforms. The remaining paints in the set round out the smaller, yet still vital details of the warband. From Moonbeam Yellow for their shoulder pads to Emperor Gold for their filigree and even Fiery Vermillion for their trim and numbering. Of course, how could we forget the all-star that is Grimdark Shadow to tie it all together and provide that essential grimdark shading. I mean, it's in the name.

We've even put together a handy video tutorial with Studio Painter Tyler Mengel showing how to use all these colours together to paint a Prussian Stosstruppen from primer to gaming table. All you need to add outside of the set are Matt Black, Matt White, and a silver metallic of your choice. Colours that most seasoned hobbyists likely already have amongst their collections.

Portents of a Grimdark Future

Of course, this is only the beginning. The next two sets for the Crusade Se7ens range are already in the works and should be making landfall sometime in the not too distant future...
