The Factory Team Leaves Their Mark!

The Factory Team Leaves Their Mark!

The all-new Speedpaint Markers are almost out in the wild for all of you to paint with to your hearts’ content. We here at The Army Painter offices have been messing around with them ourselves, including a few short tutorials, but to get some real expert opinions on them, we got them into the hands of our Factory Team. When you have a whole host of professional hobbyists at your disposal, it’s worthwhile giving them the keys to the kitchen, or in this case and see what wild, inventive, creative, and amazing videos and miniatures they can come up with, and they did not disappoint!

Chris "Peachy" Peach

Ever one to find ways to get your models on the table faster, Peachy took to the Speedpaint Markers with gusto and used them to knock out a band of warriors for his ongoing 5 Leagues from the Borderlands campaign. Not content with using them to simply paint the minis in a more straightforward manner, he also added heraldry to their shields and even discovered a useful way to add dirt and weathering using only the markers! (A technique our Studio Painter, Tyler, borrowed heavily for our own Speedpaint Marker tutorials. Thanks Peachy!)

Sam Lenz

Leave it to the maestro that is Sam Lenz to figure out all the most interesting hacks and techniques using the Speedpaint Markers. Utilising different combinations of coloured zenithals, he added even more depth and tones to the set of 10 Markers you get with the Starter Set. How do you paint an orc green with a Zealot Yellow Speedpaint Marker? You’ll have to watch to find out.

Phil Hall, the Glacial Geek

Not only does Phil showcase the various uses of the new Speedpaint Markers, whether that’s painting a model from scratch or adding some sick blends to the wings of a ferocious monster, but he also shows off how versatile they are when it comes to portability. Want to paint outside? Done. While waiting on your food to cook in the kitchen? Easy. While taking a shower? Well, maybe not, but he tries!

Don Suratos

Not content with only using the Speedpaint Markers, Don has combined these amazing new tools with his own signature “Double Slap-chop" style of painting and sponges to get a truly stunning result. By applying the markers first, then adding more highlights and Speedpaint, he really adds a ton of depth and detail to his mini.
