The Army Painter at Adepticon and Gary Con 2025

The Army Painter at Adepticon and Gary Con 2025

The Army Painter will be traveling to Wisconsin this month for one heck of a double feature, a wombo combo, or a dynamic duo, if you will, of an event lineup. That’s right, with the crown jewel of the Midwest's gaming scene, Adepticon, officially moving to Milwaukee this year, we'll be heading to the Dairy State with our cheese hats in hand, ready to set up shop and help celebrate everything that’s great about our hobby.

But what’s this about a double feature I hear you asking? With the move north of the windy city this year, we’ll also be attending Gary Con the weekend before!

Gary Con, March 20th – 23rd

Gary Con began as a way to honour the late Gary Gygax aka, the co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, after his passing in 2008, by his son Luke Gygax. Since then, it has become an annual event at Lake Geneva and is currently held at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin as a celebration of all things RPG and tabletop. With over 3,000 attendees in 2024, it’s one of the most unique and boutique conventions in the miniature wargaming world.

The Army Painter events team will be in attendance, leading the Paint and Take program in the Grand Ballroom Foyer. Stop by and chat all things painting with Kat, Caleb, Adam, and our newest Events Team member, Tim, all weekend long, or sit down and experience our paint ranges firsthand at the Paint and Take tables with miniatures generously donated by Steamforged Games. The Paint and Take will be running every day of the event from 9 am – 5 pm, and from 9 am– 12 pm on Sunday.

Caleb will also be leading a series of seminars on Saturday the 22nd on how to get the most out of your Speedpaints, and Warpaints Fanatic paints. Space is limited and spots are already filling up, so be sure to sign up here if you’re interested!

Adepticon, March 26th – 30th

Lest we forget the largest tabletop gaming convention in the entire United States, we’ll be rolling into Adepticon just a few days later, making the trek down to Milwaukee from Lake Geneva. This storied tradition in the tabletop world has been hard at work for 23 years, home to the absolute largest selection of tournaments and a vendor hall to behold for the gaming masses. Whether you’re looking to roll dice in the grim darkness of the far future or take part in an up-and-coming indie game, Adepticon has you covered. With over 8,000 attendees last year, the time had come to find a larger venue, and this year marks the first time the convention is being held in Milwaukee – a sure-to-be milestone event in the making!

Adepticon Vendor Map

The Army Painter Events Team along with Adam Abramowicz will be setting up shop in the vendor hall, with all of your favourite paints ready and available for you to buy and crack open right at the convention if you so wish. Yes, that means the exciting new John Blanche Masterclass Paint Sets as well! We’ll also be running painting demos at the booth all weekend long, as well as having an assortment of our models from The Army Painter Academy tutorial series on display with one of the men behind the brush, Tyler, on hand to answer any of your questions.

Caleb's Adepticon Seminars

The man, the myth, the legend himself, Caleb Wissenback, will also be in attendance, leading a series of his world-class painting seminars. Learn how to use the Warpaints Fanatic, Speedpaint, or Warpaints Air paint ranges to the best of your abilities with his excellent tutorage. Best of all, all three classes are free to attend! Space will be limited, though, so be sure to sign up early at our booth in the vendor hall.

The Factory Team at Adepticon

Last but certainly not least, Sam Lenz, Phil Hall, and Adam Loper will all be there in support as the Army Painter Factory Team, lending their endless enthusiasm and expertise. They will also be hanging out at our booth, running demos and talking about painting between their running their own classes and rolling dice. We'll also have some new mystery Factory Team members making their first appearance at Adepticon - stay tuned for more details on who they could be!

If you’re planning on attending either event, be sure to find our booth, paint some minis with us, and try out the new John Blanche Masterclass paints. Rumour even has it that if you manage to attend both events, Adam will reward you with a firm handshake and/or high-five – attendee's choice!
