Rob Medwell
I’m Rob and I’m a painter based in the UK. As well as commission painting, I also teach painting courses across the globe. You may recognise most of my work from Warhammer: The Horus Heresy where I like to combine bright and vivid colour palettes with scale modelling techniques like battle damage and weathering. I’ve been working alongside The Army Painter for the past 2 years using their products to create free and accessible tutorials. The team over at The Army Painter have supported me immensely in my painting and content creation journey over the past 2 years. They are professional, supportive and really care about me and my success as an artist.
Above all else though, I’ve been so impressed by The Army Painter’s determination to constantly improve their products. They have spent a lot of time working with the community on their Speed Paints and Fanatic Ranges (I should know – I was one of the early testers!) to make them as good as they can
be.
So let’s find out why I LOVE their products. Here are just a few of their paints that I use in almost every project!
"The Turquoises Flexible Triad is an awesome set of paints. As there are 6 paints in this set it makes it easy to create gradual and smooth blends when creating energised power swords as well as turquoise armour (Alpha Legion anyone??!). Mixed with a little of The Army Painter’s airbrush thinner, Deep Azure is also absolutely fantastic as a Verdigris effect on coppers and brass colours."

"Vibrant, bold and easy to use, Speedpaint Blood Red is an absolutely fantastic paint to have in the arsenal. It’s great to pick out details in red which have been highlighted with white or a lighter colour. It works just as well through the airbrush as well. Use it over a highlight of white or a model primed in white and the red POPS!"
