The Army Painter Heading to Gen Con

The Army Painter Heading to Gen Con

Gen Con is one of the most storied names in the tabletop and RPG industry when it comes to conventions, with the very first one being held way back in 1968. Now, with decades of experience behind it, it’s a staple in many hobbyists’ social calendars. Tens of thousands of fans attend each year, and now The Army Painter is joining the celebration!

Held in Indianapolis on August 1st – 4th, you’ll be able to find us at our Artist Demo Station right in the middle of the hobby area on the second-floor mezzanine. Our station will be crewed the entire event by the talented Kat and Caleb of The Army Painter events team, where you’ll be able to try out all our paints, from the new Warpaints Fanatic to fan favourites Speedpaint and Warpaints Air. You’ll even be able to sit down and have 1 on 1 painting sessions with Caleb, a talented, and praised instructor within the miniature painting community. Rumour has it that Uncle Atom from The Army Painter Factory Team will be around the convention as well. What’s more, Bo, our founder will be in attendance as well at the Demo Station, ready to answer all your burning questions about the company, our paint, and even Dipit!

Fanatic Speedpainting

You’ll also be able to try our paint ranges at the Paint and Take as well as The Army Painter Speed Painting Contest, a special event we’re co-sponsoring with the MHE Crew. Participate in one of five rounds of intense and fun speed painting where you’ll have 45 minutes to create your masterpiece. The winners from each round are invited back to a special championship round on the Sunday of the event to compete for the title of The Army Painter’s Speediest Miniature Artist as well as some amazing prizes. The miniatures for each round are generously provided by Steamforged Games, and you get to take them home with you once you’re done.

Beyond these amazing events, you can also find our paints in use at several classes, including Amazing Glazing with Jamie Daggers. Caleb will even be judging the Journeyman and Youngbloods categories in the Gen Con Painting Competition, with more prizes worthy of Dipit’s secret stash on the line. He’ll also be available afterwards to discuss anyone’s entries and provide feedback.

If you’re going to Gen Con be sure to stop by and say hello and take part in one of the many painting activities we’ll be a part of over the whole weekend. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
